1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the WorkWords app and website, operated by Garra Labs. By using WorkWords you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use WorkWords.
2. Who can use WorkWords
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country. If you are under the age of majority, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use WorkWords for your own learning. You may not copy, resell, scrape or redistribute our content, or use it to build a competing product or train machine-learning models.
4. Free version and ads
The free version includes the daily word, selected decks and a daily review session, and shows ads as described in the Privacy Policy. Some actions, like an extra review session or a streak freeze, can be unlocked by choosing to watch a rewarded ad.
5. WorkWords Pro
WorkWords Pro unlocks every deck, unlimited review and an ad-free experience. It is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Price, billing period and any free-trial terms are shown before you buy.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; deleting the app does not cancel it.
If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. A lifetime purchase gives you Pro for as long as WorkWords is offered, on the platform where you bought it. Use "Restore purchases" to recover Pro on a new device.
6. Learning content
Definitions, examples and usage notes are written by our team for learning purposes. We work to keep them accurate, but language is nuanced and we do not guarantee specific results. Translations into some languages are machine-generated and may be approximate. WorkWords is not legal, financial, medical or employment advice.
7. Intellectual property
WorkWords, its content, design, logos and software belong to Garra Labs or its licensors. Headwords drawn from public vocabulary lists are credited to their authors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.
8. Acceptable use
Do not misuse WorkWords: no attempts to break, reverse-engineer or overload the service, bypass purchases or ads, or use it in a way that breaks the law or harms others.
9. Third-party services
WorkWords relies on services such as Apple, Google, RevenueCat and Google AdMob. Their own terms and policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their services.
10. Apple-specific terms
If you downloaded WorkWords from the App Store: these Terms are between you and Garra Labs, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any product, legal or intellectual-property claims related to the app; Garra Labs is. You confirm you are not in a country subject to US embargo or on a US prohibited-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
11. Disclaimers
Except as required by law, WorkWords is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time; if we discontinue paid features, we will tell you in advance.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Garra Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for WorkWords in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using WorkWords at any time and delete your data in Settings → Your data. We may suspend access if you seriously breach these Terms.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will show the new date at the top and, for important changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use WorkWords after changes means you accept them.
15. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. If you are a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory laws of your country of residence and bring claims in the courts of your domicile.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms: [email protected]. In case of conflict between language versions, the English version prevails, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
